Next Nature is an interactive installation that proposes a synthetic-digital space inspired by nature. First presented in 2019, the work was revisited seven years later at the invitation of Llum BCN, in the context of a new cycle for the festival. Rather than simply reproducing the original piece, Rotor Studio worked together with the festival to develop a new version specifically conceived for La Llanterna at the Auditori de Barcelona, a square structure designed by Rafael Moneo, with stained-glass windows by Pablo Palazuelo.

For this new version, the architectural space called for a lighter and more ethereal intervention. A semi-transparent screen, approximately 15 metres high and 6 metres wide, becomes a suspended digital landscape within the architecture, while subtle changes in the graphics adapt the visual language of the work to its new surroundings.

As visitors approach, their bodies become part of the projected environment, allowing them to interact with this artificial nature. Through the recreation of natural stimuli and sensations by digital means, Next Nature proposes a moment of pause and contemplation within the frenetic activity of the city, exploring the shifting boundaries between the real and the artificial, and between nature as a physical experience and its technological representation.
