REFLEKTOR is an artistic research, creation and production project that combines theoretical and practical approaches to developing modular optical devices based on systems of multiple reflection.

Through repeated mirror reflections, the works become unstable visual patterns that alter the relationship between recognition and perception. Rather than producing fixed images, the device creates shifting optical situations that depend on the viewer’s position and movement.

This sense of blurred boundaries is heightened by an intense, highly saturated colour palette. These colours act not only as surfaces but also as sources of reflected light cast onto the surrounding space, creating a diffuse chromatic contamination that extends beyond the object itself.

The work also draws a parallel between physical systems of optical reflection and the logics of repetition inherent in digital environments.

The MAGIC telescopes, located at Roque de los Muchachos on La Palma, are always on our minds as we work on these experiments.
