GOSSIP CAM

GOSSIP CAM is a participatory audiovisual installation created for public spaces, employing artificial intelligence algorithms for object recognition.

Colloquially, the term ‘artificial intelligence’ is used when a machine replicates cognitive functions associated with the human mind. However, humans are not perfect; in fact, human nature is characterized by millions of contradictions, nonsensical aspects, and superstitions.

What would happen if we trained artificial intelligence to perpetuate baseless banalities and assumptions, devoid of any proof or scientific evidence? What if artificial intelligence were deliberately trained to exhibit stupidity or engage in gossip?

he installation detects the presence of visitors and randomly selects faces from the audience. A software then analyzes them based on completely arbitrary parameters, providing a random result that is projected onto the facade. The responses generated by the machine are purely speculative, lacking any basis or foundation, but perhaps it may occasionally be accurate… Who knows!

GOSSIP CAM is pure entertainment suitable for all audiences. Simultaneously, it prompts reflection on our beliefs, preconceptions, and blind faith, factors that often influence our decision-making.
